Elafonisos is a multicolored sapphire which gleams its ornamented beauties in Morias’ crystal sea and in the azure waters of Smigopelago (from smigo meaning to combine and pelagos meaning the sea).

This island forms the entrance to the Minoan, Aegean and Ionian sea civilizations.  This is the where today, with the help of the imagination and the azure colors of the sky and the sea, one can still hear the voices of the mythical gods.  Elafonisos' history is deep and rich since the first inhibitation of the island took place a long time ago during the neolithic period (6000 - 3500 B.C..)
